Talon’s Proud Pilot, Captain Matthew Schwab

Talon’s Proud Pilot, Captain Matthew Schwab

Matthew Schwab has wanted to fly for as long as he can remember.  Touching upon a striking childhood memory that fueled this desire, he reminisces, “My father, brother and I went for a scenic airplane ride when I was about five or six, and I’ve been hooked ever since.”

Matthew began his impressive flight career with a Bachelor’s Degree in Aviation from Ohio State University, then moved on to the U.S. Air Force for four years, serving as an aircraft mechanic during Operation Desert Shield.  In the past 18 years, Matthew has worked in corporate aviation, logging in an incredible 9,000 hours.  As a Talon Air employee, he has held the position of Chief Pilot for three and a half years and Check Airman for six.

Matthew’s favorite Talon Air airplane to fly is a super-midsize Hawker 4000-class jet and his favorite to provide crew support for is a Gulfstream IV-class heavy jet.  His favorite destinations are Aspen, Rome, Vienna and London.
